Colonoscopy

Colonoscopy is a procedure where your doctor uses a flexible camera to examine the lining of your colon or large intestine for growths (polyps) and removes them as part of a screening examination. If you have a symptom like bleeding or diarrhea, the colonoscopy helps your doctor determine if there is a change in the lining that could explain the symptom. Read More...

Endoscopy

Upper endoscopy is a procedure where your doctor uses a flexible camera to examine the lining of your esophagus, stomach and the first several inches of your small intestine (duodenum). If you have a symptom like bleeding or abdominal pain, the upper endoscopy helps your doctor determine if there is a change in the lining that could explain the symptom. Read More...

Flexible Sigmoidoscopy

Sigmoidoscopy is a procedure where your doctor uses a flexible camera to examine the lining of the last 1-2 feet of your colon or large intestine. If you have a symptom like bleeding or diarrhea, the colonoscopy helps your doctor determine if there is a change in the lining that could explain the symptom. If a growth is discovered, tissue samples can be taken for analysis.

Colon Cancer Screening

Screening is looking for cancer before a person has any symptoms. This can help find cancer at an early stage. When abnormal tissue or cancer is found early, it may be easier to treat. By the time symptoms appear, cancer may have begun to spread.

It is important to remember that your doctor does not necessarily think you have cancer if he or she suggests a screening test. Screening tests are given when you have no cancer symptoms. Screening tests may be repeated on a regular basis. Read More...

Hemorrhoid Banding

Hemorrhoid banding is one of the most commonly recommended hemorrhoid procedures in the US and has been performed on millions of patients for many years. We use a proprietary system that is a significant improvement over previous methods and combined with our expertise, allows us to treat all hemorrhoid patients safely, painlessly and effectively in our office, without surgery.

Wireless Capsule Endoscopy

Capsule endoscopy is a procedure where your doctor uses a swallowed wireless camera to examine the lining of your small intestine. This special pill-camera, which has its own battery, light source and lens, takes approximately 50,000 pictures of your intestinal tract. It creates streaming video that is wirelessly recorded by a recording device attached to a battery pack that you carry with you for a few hours. If you have a symptom like bleeding or anemia that could not be explained by colonoscopy or upper endoscopy, the capsule endoscopy helps your doctor determine if there is a change in the lining that could explain the symptom.

Esophageal PH

The equipment used in the esophageal pH test consists of a small probe that is inserted through your nostril and positioned near the lower esophagus. The probe is plugged into a small unit (or monitor) worn on your belt or over your shoulder. A newer, wireless device may make monitoring the pH level easier: Instead of having to have a tube placed down your nose for 24 hours, your doctor will place a disposable capsule into the esophagus using an endoscope. The capsule then wirelessly transmits information for up to 48 hours to a receiver worn around the waist.

Fibroscan

A fibroscan is a type of ultrasound that can measure the degree of inflammation in your liver. It is a simple, painless test that uses high frequency sound waves. Your doctor recommended that you have this test to help us understand the condition of your liver.
